The MMOI Irons bring a flexible, quality iron head to the world of MOI matching.
MOI or Moment Of Inertia matched clubs all feel the same when you swing them. This is accomplished by either measuring each individual club's MOI as you build them and adjusting the head weight to bring each club into the same MOI range.
Advanced clubmakers are starting to appreciate the advantages that MOI matched clubs give to their customers, and some industry visionaries have been promoting MOI matching for some time. You can even purchase a piece of clubmaking equipment that will allow you to MOI match any clubs you build for your customers.
The MMOI irons have a large game improvement profile, combined with a deep cavity and progressive offset. Not only are these irons easy to hit, they deliver outstanding performance for golfers of many skill levels.
MMOI irons assist the clubmaker in producing either a swingweight matched or an MOI matched set through the addition of a weight port in the cavity. This cavity weight port allows you to install optional 4g, 6g or 8g weights. These may be epoxied in place to change the swingweight of your irons or to assist in MOI matching.
A mediallion is provided to cover the weight port in the cavity. It is applied by removing the protecting backing from the adhesive tape on the back of the medallion and carefully pressing it into place over the weight port cavity. If a clubmaker wishes to remove and reinstall the medallion in order to change weights, they may be removed with a careful application of heat and reapplied using your favorite adhesive.
Cast from soft, 1020 stainless steel, these irons can be adjusted for both loft and lie up to 4 degrees without fear of breakage. If you adjust the lofts, be sure to be aware of the bounce angle so you don't create a "dig" sole in the process. |
